Japanese yards win orders for 46 ships during September
Japan?s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says its shipbuilding companies have orders for 46 ships of 1.9 million GT for September this year. The volume is 165.7 percent more than that of the same month last year in terms of GT.
There are 37 cargo ships including 31 bulk carriers, a general cargo ship, three container ships and 2 ro ros, and 9 tankers including two VLCCs, all secured by Japanese shipbuilders. Only one tankers of 2,975GT has been ordered from a Japanese ship owner the other 45 ships are orders from foreign ship owners.
