Jaya delivers new OSV
Venkatraman Sheshashayee, chief executive officer, Jaya Holdings Ltd, said: “Jaya Pride is one of the most sophisticated vessels produced by Jaya’s Batam shipyard, a highly versatile DP2 workboat for offshore platform maintenance, one we have already fixed on a time charter with a key customer.”
The vessel is powered by two main Caterpillar engines which deliver over 5,150 bhp, supported by two bow thrusters and two stern thrusters from Kawasaki. The vessel has additional Volvo Penta Generators and 650 sq m of clear deck capacity for equipment and cargo.
Jaya expects to deliver a similar larger Wärtsilä designed vessel from its Batam yard in 2014. It is confident that the Jaya Pride will be the first of many such vessels built for its charter fleet in the coming years.
The company has its eye firmly on the South East Asian, Mexican and West African markets – where it says that platform maintenance vessels are in increasing demand for renovation work.
