‘K’ Line expands installation of control system
YDK released the new heading control system called BNAAC, batch noise adaptive autopilot controller, intended to increase fuel economy
.
The prime function of this system is to continuously update the ship’s parameter by monitoring the changing meteorological and hydrographic conditions
.
The previous system just reflected the initial parameter setting
.
‘K’ Line and YDK carried out the experimental trial of this system onboard a bulk carrier which showed an approximate 1% reduction of carbon dioxide emissions compared with the current system
.
While ‘K’ Line has already started to install the BNAAC system to on its newbuildings, it has also decided to fit it on existing vessels, the first of which is the
Becchio Bridge
