Kakinada plans shipyard

The port of Kakinada, located in south-east India on the Godavari river delta, is planning to establish a privately owned shipyard and an announcement regarding this project is to be made by the government later this year. Due to unavailability of land in the waterfront area, the shipyard will have to be built on reclaimed land from the sea. The estimated cost of this project is $220 million.
