K” Line orders more bulkers from China
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” Line) in Japan has ordered three 176,000 dwt Capesize bulk carriers from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) for delivery in 2012. “K” Line’s goal is to have 100 Capesize vessels in its fleet come fiscal 2013. The firm took delivery of its first SWS Capesize bulker in May this year and have been very satisfied with the quality performance of the ship thus far. SWS is part of the China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) organisation.
