Kawasaki gets order for small LNG carrier

Maple LNG Transport, a joint venture owned equally by MOL and Hiroshima Gas, has ordered a 19,100 cubic metre LNG carrier from Kawasaki Shipbuilding, and signed a 20 year charter contract with HG LNG Shipping Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hiroshima Gas. The Moss type LNG carrier has three tanks and will have a length of 151 metres, a breadth of 28 metres and a 7.3 metre draught. The 20,000 gt gas carrier will have a service speed of 18.1 knots and is slated for completion in September 2007.
