KBB to test fourth HPR
KBB is preparing to commence testing of the fourth and final model in its new range of HPR turbochargers. The fourth model ? the HPR5000 ? will be available for engine tests in the second quarter of next year, says the company. The first two models in the series have already come through their engine tests and are now in serial production. The HPR range features a pressure ratio of 4.7:1 and has an aluminium compressor. KBB adds that higher pressure ratios are possible by using superior materials for the compressor. The range is designed for engines in the power range of 400-3,000kW and supersedes KBB?s R-2 and R-3 series. Features include a compact design, using standard outline dimensions.
