Kleven and Parat newbuild deal
The contract includes one combined 1250kW electric steam and hot water boiler. The PARAT Electrical circulation steam (ECS) boiler is a new product in the Parat Marine line-up and was designed to meet the request for a modular and easy to install alternative to MGO fuel for auxiliary boilers on existing vessels in operation.
Parat says that the steadily increasing focus on reducing harmful emissions in ports and harbours is “challenging us to think of more efficient ways of maintaining the steam pressure without actually running the burner.”
The PARAT ECS is a very compact electrical circulation boiler designed to provide an alternative to running the auxiliary boiler on MGO when in harbour or at port. The ECS allows the vessel operator to maintain the steam pressure using electrical power.
The vessel is designed by Salt Ship Design, type Salt 100 PSV. It will be delivered to owner Ugland Supplier AS in January 2014.
