Impression of the MT 6009 L multi-purpose offshore support vessel design

The newbuilding is based on the MT 6009 L design by Norwegian company Marin Teknikk, and using an already-built MT design hull makes the early delivery possible. The design and engineering for this order will be undertaken by Marin Teknikk. The 3,500 dwt vessel has an overall length of 79.7m, a beam of 16.8m, deck space of 745 m2, arrangements for ROV operations with removable cargo rail and is prepared for an offshore crane with capacity of 25t at 15m radius. The accommodation area has a capacity of 40 persons.

The main engines powering the diesel-electric propulsion system will be equipped with urea-injection SCR systems.

The new order means that that the anticipated layoffs at Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, are postponed. Kleven Maritime now has an orderbook of 11 vessels at a value of NOK 4.5 billion ($771 million).
