Kleven gets Rem number ten

Fosnavag-based Rem Offshore in Norway has placed a contract with Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik for the construction of an offshore supply vessel. The vessel is a Multi Purpose Support Vessel (MPSV) of the MT 6016 Mk III design, and is the tenth vessel Rem Offshore has ordered at Kleven Verft. The vessel is developed in close cooperation between the owner and the yard, and is designed by the Norwegian design company MarinTeknikk. The contract value is $50 million and delivery is slated in early 2009.

The vessel is 93,96 m long, with a beam of 19,70 m, includes large cargo capacity below deck, and a working deck of 1000 m2. “The MT6016 design has proven itself as a flexible design, and may easily be modified to suit other purposes than mere supply. On this vessel we will maintain full supply capacity below deck”, states owner Åge Rem?y as reasoning behind the choice of vessel.
