Kleven wins another Rem contract
The 108m long, 22m wide vessel will be to the MT6022 design by Marin Teknikk. Among its features will be a powerful offshore crane, and accomodation for 100 personnel. Delivery is due in the first quarter of 2014. According to the yard, this is one of the largest ships the Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik has built.
”Kleven and Rem have had a strong relationship for many years, and we are very pleased that they choose Kleven again,” said Ståle Rasmussen, Kleven CEO.
‘We ordered a construction vessel of the same type from Kleven in April this year, based on the positive experience we have with Rem Forza, a similar vessel delivered from Kleven Verft in 2008,” said ship owner Åge Remøy. ”We believe the market for this type of vessels will be strong in the future.”
Kleven has so far delivered 14 vessels to Rem, and currently has a 14-strong orderbook valued at around 7billion NOK for various buyers, including one LNG -powered vessel for January 2013 delivery to Rem.
