Kleven wins Siem newbuilding
Siem Offshore in Norway has awarded a shipbuilding contract to Kleven Maritime AS for a multi-functional field & ROV support vessel for delivery June 2007, at a cost of approximately $50 million.
The vessel is a MT 6016 L designed by Marin Teknikk with a length of 103.70 metres and a beam of 19.70 metres, and will have a deck area in excess of 1,100 m2, large lifting capacity, accommodation for 100 persons, efficient launch and recovery systems for ROVs, moonpool, and helideck. The vessel is designed for world wide subsea operations including light construction work, maintenance, and ROV services. This is the first vessel ordered by Siem from Kleven. The Norwegian shipbuilder now has 10 vessels in its order book, at a contract value of NOK 2.1 billions. In total Kleven Maritime as a group has an order backlog of 17 vessels as well as designs for 11 specialized tankers, in total at a contractual value of NOK 4.8 billions.
