Korea to remain tops

Korean shipbuilders will maintain their No. 1 position in the world until 2015 with a market share of over 40% in terms of completion volume, according to an announcement by Korea Shipbuilder?s Association. Korean shipbuilders completed 15.14 million GT and will build 16.7 million GT in 2015 when world completion volume is predicted to be 41.6 million GT.

KSA predicts that Korean shipbuilders will maintain 60% share of large container ship completions and secure more than 65% share in LNG carrier newbuildings until 2015.
