Korean shipping companies to build 95 bulk carrier by 2016

Plans to build 95 bulk carriers by 2016 were revealed at a recent meeting between Korean Shipowners? Association and Korea Shipbuilders Association.

The two associations discussed proposals to build dedicated vessels for Korea Electric Power Co and Posco. The shipowners? association asked shipbuilders to reserve berth space for the bulkers until 2015 and Korean shipbuilders were confident they could built these large sized bulk carriers in the numbers involved provided the price was right.
