KOTUG wins large Congo LNG deal
As part of this contract, KOTUG will deploy three state-of-the-art Rotortugs to support various operations, including the mooring and unmooring of vessels, handling of mooring equipment, stand-by services, pilot transport, as well as antipollution measures, oilfield goods transport, and passenger transfers.
The Rotortug, renowned for its patented triangular propulsion design, ensures superior safety and precise manoeuvrability. Each tug delivers over 80 tons of Bollard Pull, utilising a unique propulsion system with three thrusters that enhance redundancy, reduce costs, and ensure faster, more reliable handling in all conditions.
KOTUG is committed to maximising local content by actively engaging with local suppliers and utilising local goods and services. This approach will foster the employment and training of Congolese nationals, contributing to the sustainable development of the regional economy.
Ard-Jan Kooren, president and CEO of KOTUG, remarked, “We are honoured to play a role in the Congo LNG project, deploying our advanced Rotortugs to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of this critical infrastructure. This collaboration highlights KOTUG’s dedication to supporting sustainable local economic development through the utilization of local talent and resources, reaffirming our commitment to excellence in the LNG sector. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with ENI Congo and to contributing to the success of this important project
