KR plans to release new version of KR-CON

Korean Register of Shipping (KR) plans to release the new version (4.0) of KR-CON – a database of various IMO instruments, such as conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL, ICLL, STCW, etc.), codes (IBC, IGC, ISM, ISPS, FSS, FTP, HSC, etc.), resolutions (Assembly, MSC, MEPC, FAL, LEG) and circulars (MSC, MEPC, LL3), in the first week of July.

First developed in 2000 in an effort to provide easily comprehensible information and to facilitate the application of IMO requirements, KR-CON has been updated on a yearly basis since its introduction to incorporate newly adopted IMO instruments as far as possible. The new version (4.0) contains the newly adopted IMO instruments such as 23rd Assembly Resolutions, 77th MSC Resolutions, 50th MEPC Resolutions, and various conventions and codes which have been amended as a result of those resolutions.

In addition, version 4.0 includes unique features like ?My Ship SOLAS? function which can provide users with customized overview for individual ships. Since IMO regulations vary according to individual particulars of a ship, it is often mind-boggling task to find regulations that are applicable for a specific ship. KR-CON provides a simple solution to this problem by inputting the individual characteristics of ship, i.e. construction date, type, gross tonnage, length, etc, enabling users to easily identify regulations applicable to their individual ship.
