Largest vessel returns to Dubai
The 564,000dwt ULCC Jahre Viking, the world?s largest ship, has completed its fifth Special Survey at Dock Number 2 at Dubai Drydocks. Jahre Viking entered dock on October 15, and left, on schedule on November 14. The fifth Special Survey involved extensive steel renewals, a full painting programme, pipework and mechanical repairs. This is the third visit Jahre Viking has made to Dubai Drydocks, having also used its facilities in 1991 and 1996. Built in 1976, the vessel now has five more years of service before reaching the IMO?s mandatory age limit for tankers.
