Least-cost messaging calculated launched

Globe Wireless has release of the Globe Communications Centre (GCC) which it says is designed to streamline onboard messaging and data file transfers for commercial vessels. The GCC routes communications through the Maritime Data Network as well as through satellite systems via a protocol developed by Marinet Systems, which recently merged with Globe Wireless.

Depending upon the size and priority of the message, the software notifies the user as to whether it is cheaper to send the message through the Maritime Data Network or by consolidating and sending it through satellite communications, says Globe Wireless.
