LR to extend eCerts system from late August

Until now, LR has been issuing eCerts for newly issued Panama Flag certificates and records since November 2019. The system has been used by a number of leading customers since then.

The class society plans to extend this capability to Singapore, Denmark and Netherlands from late August. This will be extended to Marshall Islands shortly afterwards.

The class society plans to add further Flag states from September 2020 on a phased basis.

LR will issue electronic certificates in accordance with the IMO Facilitation Committee (FAL) and its approved Guidelines for the Use of Electronic Certificates (IMO Circular FAL.5/Circ.39/Rev.2).

LR provides a Verification Portal through which third-party stakeholders, such as Port State Control, can view the certificates securely, using a unique tracking number.

The solution streamlines the survey process, integrating certificates into LR’s reporting systems, and eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy.
