Macnaught expands flow meter range

The MX Ex oval gear flow meters are ATEX approved, rated Ex ia IIC (Class 1 Zone 0), approved CSA and FM and manufactured from stainless steel (316), allowing oval gear technology to be used in applications requiring precise flow measurement in hazardous areas.

Oval gear flow meters measure the volumetric flow rate of a moving fluid, the two rotating oval gears divide the material into fixed, metered volumes. They are said to be versatile, accurate flow measurement solutions, unaffected by variations in temperature, viscosity, or pressure and easy to maintain.

The MX Ex flow meters are suited to the precise transfer or dispensing of thin or viscous fluids, corrosive chemicals and non-conductive liquids in environments where there is the potential of exposure to flammable gases, or vapours. The meters do not require flow conditioning or straight pipe runs.

The MX Ex series is available in ¼” (8mm) up to 2” (50mm), with flow ranges from 0.13 GPH to 132 GPM and an accuracy of ±0.5%. They are equipped with Macnaught’s M-Lock mounting systems meaning they can be replaced without having to disassemble the meter or remove it from service.

Macnaught offer two models of pulser approved for use in hazardous areas, the MXD-BS and the MXD-CS. The full range of Macnaught’s MX series is distributed in the UK by Bell Flow Systems.
