Maersk confirms AHTS deal

Maersk Supply Service has confirmed that it has signed a contract for construction of four multi-purpose anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS) with Volkswerft in Stralsund, Germany.

The four vessels will be upgraded and updated sister vessels to the A class AHTS previously delivered to the company by Volkswerft. The newbuildings will be delivered from July 2009 and as part of the contract, Maersk Supply Service has options for an additional two vessels.
