Mail Connect launched

GN Comtext says it has launched Mail Connect to enable users to send and receive telex, GN Comtext e-mail, X 400 messages, and Internet mail, as well as send fax messages (text only) direct from their existing e-mail system. The service runs from cc: Mail, and will shortly support Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange, says the company.

An organisation`s LAN e-mail system can access Mail Connect by connecting to the company`s global communications network via the local PSTN, ISDN lines, or in some countries through a leased line and GN Comtext`s local node, says the company.

GN Comtext says Mail Connect users will also be able to use its on-line shipping directory, to be launched shortly, giving access to listings of all its customers in the maritime industry.
