MAN strengthens research relationship with CCS

The agreement will strengthen the cooperation between the two companies in intelligent ship research, in regards to data exchange, online monitoring and online service.

It was signed by Wayne Jones, executive board member for sales at MAN, and Sun Feng, vice president of CCS, on behalf of their companies.

Mr Jones said: “This signing represents just the latest step in our collaboration with CCS, one which I am certain will last for many years to come.”

“The Chinese market is of great importance to MAN Diesel & Turbo and, by allying ourselves with such an important player, we are positioning our technology –and leveraging our know-how – optimally”.

CCS and MAN’s new arrangement is an implementation agreement under the Framework Agreement for Technical Cooperation which was signed by both parties back in 2013.

Also at Marintec, CCS presented MAN Diesel and Turbo with a class approval for its PrimeServ Online Service.

The remote minoring service makes it possible to diagnose machinery at any time and from any location. It is based on transferred and stored engine data, and is said to have helped towards the intelligent ship concept and high safety for ship owners.

“This type of monitoring plays an increasingly significant role in our industry and is the cornerstone for further digital services such as electronic, condition-based maintenance,” concluded Mr Jones.
