MCA contract goes to Icom

Radio communication company, Icom (UK) has won the contract to supply approximately 3,000 IC M1 EuroV VHF hand-portable radio transceivers to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). Last year, the company supplied the MCA`s vehicle fleet with 50 IC M59 Euro VHF mobile radio transceivers. The IC-M1 EuroV is set to replace the company`s previous handheld.

The IC-M1 EuroV features a lithium ion battery, waterproof microphone/accessory socket and a self-test facility.

The five-year contract is to supply radios, spare batteries, microphones and cases. The company, has also given a three-year warranty covering all radios in the contract.
