MISC inks deal with SLS
Kuala Lumpur based MISC Bhd has signed an agreement with South Korea’s SLS Shipbuilding (SLS) to buy eight 45,000 dwt chemical tankers. The double-hulled IMO II vessels ordered at a total cost of about $430million will be delivered during 2009 and 2010. The newbuildings will enable MISC to improve its existing capabilities by capitalising on the rapidly growing global vegetable oil and chemical trades and potentially clean petroleum products market as well.
