MOL completes iron ore carrier

Delivery ceremony of the 'Ore Salvador'

The 327m vessel, which was built at Japan Marine United Corporation’s Ariake shipyard, will be operated by MOL under a long term contract with global mining company, Vale International SA.

Gurinder Singh, director of Vale International, who named the vessel, Shinjiro Mishima, president of Japan Marine United and Koichi Muto, president of MOL, were present at the naming and delivery ceremonies.

MOL operates a total of seven very large ore carriers (VLOCs) in the 300,000 tonne class, providing ocean transport services around the world to meet the continually growing demand for iron ore transport.
