More MacGregor machinery for Sinopacific

The main dimensions of SPA85L have been optimised to meet the complex conditions of the South China Seas

To date, 150 shipsets of equipment have been delivered and installed at Sinopacific yards. This latest order is for two vessels types, anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels and platform supply vessels (PSVs). They include MacGregor anchor handling/towing winches, shark jaws, towing pins and other deck machinery.

“A key focus for all the vessels is reliability,” said Li Zhen, deputy general manager, Shanghai Design Associates, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group. “MacGregor equipment is well-accepted by shipowners, operators and charterers worldwide. Its quality, reliability and global lifetime support are key factors in the decisions of international fleet operators to choose MacGregor equipment.”

Of the 12 new vessels being built by Sinopacific, three of them are 61.8m PSVs being built to an SPP17A design are destined for Mexico’s Naviera Petrolera Integral SA de CV, while four are 64m AHTS vessels for Singapore’s Vallianz Holdings Limited.

The remaining vessels are being built for Shenzhen Huawei Offshore Shipping Transport Co Ltd – two 81.75m PSVs being built to an SPP35m design and three 70.8m AHTS vessels bring built to an SPA85L design.

Delivery is scheduled between January and October 2015.
