MT provides design for Singapore owner

The Norwegian naval design company Marin Teknikk has signed a contract with PT Batamec Shipyard, Indonesia, for delivery of a design and detailed engineering package for two MT 6009 MkII design for Otto Marine Pte Ltd in Singapore. The contract includes an option for two similar vessels.

The Multipurpose Field Supply Vessel design is a further development of the MT 6009 with one extra deck in the superstructure and covered forecastle deck. The diesel electric ships will have a length of 74.9m and beam of 16.4m and will be a new supplement to the medium-size PSV?s in the Asia region.

MT 6009 Mk.II have a deck area of 684m2 with full under deck tank capacities and the deadweight will be approx. 3,200 tonnes. The ships will have accommodation for 31 persons and in addition there will be good areas for mess- & day room, offices and conference rooms. The newbuildings will have a fully integrated diesel-electric propulsion system and a KM Dynamic positioning system. These systems and optimised hull lines ensure low fuel consumption, excellent manoeuvring, good sea keeping, high safety and a high level of flexibility, for the crew and ship.
