Natural Propulsion Seminar
His research on quantifying greenhouse gas emissions from shipping and on wind power technology as a mitigation option, looks at moving away from fossil fuels and towards more sustainable energy sources in shipping.
Such propositions of course rest on the expected performance and resultant fuel savings. During his talk Dr Traut will present a model to estimate savings which can be applied to a wide range of scenarios.
The Natural Propulsion Seminar which will be held on 24 May, is part of BlueWeek, a free event hosted by the Maritime Research Institute of the Netherlands (MARIN).
Registration is open but spaces are limited.
