Naval craft T-84 commissioned
Fast attack naval craft T-84 was commissioned into the Indian Navy for operations in the coastal areas. The induction of the ship was in keeping with the Navy’s policy to acquire high-speed fast attack craft for counter insurgency, anti-smuggling operations and better surveillance of the coastal areas, Navy sources said.
The T-84, built at the Goa Shipyard, is the second such vessel to be built there based on the design of Israel’s Super Dvora MK2 craft. It will be India’s fastest craft at 48 knots.
