NavCad reaches version 3.7

HydroComp has announced the release of NavCad 3.7, its naval architect`s tool designed to predict resistance, power, and optimum propeller parameters. This version includes new prediction methods and optimum trim analysis, says the company.

New resistance prediction methods have been added for semi-displacement hulls including VTT Round Bilge, VTT Hard Chine, the US Navy CRTS method and Jin-1988. A shallow water added drag method for fast monohulls has also been developed. More new methods are under development, and some of the existing semi-displacement prediction methods have been improved, says HydroComp. Optimum trim analysis is designed to allow a user to identify the vessel trim which has the minimum drag.
