New certificate for SB Broneske

The penetrations, which are popular with all kinds of passenger vessels and offshore ships, are fire-proof for a total of 60 minutes at 1000°C and water-proof for 30 minutes. SB Broneske offers additional sizes and materials on request.

These proofed, flexible pipe penetrations meet the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 demands thanks to zero transfer of vibration and structure-born noise into the ship’s structure.

Cornelia Bredthauer, marketing manager, SB Broneske, told The Motorship: “More and more the customers have to fulfill new formalities like MLC 2006 or the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS, but it is very difficult. Because of this we have the chance to advise our customers and help them with their daily job.”

“There are many customers which have no solution for their problem, or they only have solutions which are not correct. Now, our new certificate gives our customers the opportunity to use a penetration, which fulfills all requirements,” she added.

Founded in 1972, SB Broneske is the only supplier of fire-and-water-proofed flexible deck and bulkhead penetration for the exhaust pipe system worldwide.
