New comms installation and service centres for four major maritime regions

The GIS Centers in Rotterdam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Lafayette, Louisiana are intended to provide complete managed-communications services for ship owners and ship-management companies worldwide. The centres are staffed with trained field engineers who can draw upon a network of certified installation partners to provide installation, onboard maintenance and support for the Stratos portfolio of satellite-based communications products.

The Stratos GIS Center in Lafayette, Louisiana serves the port of Houston and the Americas. The centre in Rotterdam serves all major ports in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The centres in Hong Kong and Singapore serve all major ports in Asia. Additional Stratos field engineers are stationed to manage deployments in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Aberdeen, Scotland, covering all major ports in those regions.

In addition to Stratos field engineers, global installation and service will be provided through the network of certified, third-party installation partners, regularly reviewed by Stratos to ensure conformity with agreements and service standards.

Stratos adds that all project management will continue to be implemented by its customer managers; while longer-term installations across larger fleets will be coordinated globally to meet customer requirements and vessel port schedules.
