New energy demand forecast system

The new system will draw upon NEC’s big data analysis technologies and MHI’s experience of shipbuilding for a wide range of market needs.

It will project future energy demand based on previously collected data relating to ships’ energy consumption, weather patterns, ambient air temperature, time of day etc.

Use of the system will enable control of the operating ratios of a ship’s engine and power generators, as well as the number of units to be in operation.

MHI plans to recommend the new Energy Demand Forecast System for Ships along with its independently developed Mitsubishi Air Lubrication System (MALS) and other advanced environmental technologies for application in newbuilds and retrofitting. It wants to increase in orders in both areas.

Meanwhile, NEC intends to apply the energy demand forecast system to its Building Energy Management System (BEMS) strengthening its portfolio and adding value for customers.
