New optimised waterjet design

Importer
The new UltraJet UJ525

The company says this is its first model to have been designed using Solidworks 3D enabling high accuracy, lower tooling costs and the ability to optimise the flow characteristics.

It is intended for single, twin, triple or quad installations in vessels up to 200 tonnes, where high performance is required in configurations where size and cost constraints make it difficult to provide an optimised waterjet package.

Among design enhancements are a re designed reverse deflector with improved flow characteristics to increase the reverse and manoeuvring thrust. Other improvements improve durability, service life and maintainability. Interceptors are available as an option, along with a choice of interceptor control systems, to optimise the trim with varying loads.

The UJ525 is constructed in marine grade aluminium alloy, with the impeller, its housing, shafts and operating cylinders for steering and reverse being made of stainless steel. The UJ525 may be configured for the complete range of UltraJet Control systems, including JetMaster joystick control with a multiple-range of options.

The first UltraJet UJ525 installations were ordered for a new 18m catamaran project before the jet design had been finalised, but were delivered on time.
