New Russian oil tanker series
As part of the RST 22M project, RS experts are currently approving the plan of the ships. As part of an agreement, RS will render classification of the new builds and survey under construction for compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
A survey of the hull construction and the installation of machinery, electrical and automation equipment will be carried out. Compliance with approved technical documentation, all the applicable international and national requirements and mooring tests and trials will also be checked.
The RST 22M project has been developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau. The RS class notation is KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS VCS ECO-S BWM OMBO oil tanker (ESP).
The vessels are designed to carry crude oil, oil fuel, diesel oil, other oil products and vegetable oils and will be capable of carrying three types of cargo simultaneously.
The project specifies that the new tankers must comply with the Volga-Don Ship Canal and the Volga-Baltic Waterway size and to operate both river-sea traffic and traffic in the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North Sea, including circum-Europe trips and tips to the Irish Sea in the winter.
Delivery is scheduled for 2015.
