New Subsea Industries UV-resistant coating

The Ecolast coating offers a high level of corrosion and abrasion protection while being able to completely preserve the colour of the original coating.

Speaking at SMM in Hamburg, Manuel Hof, Subsea Industries’ production executive and NACE coatings inspector, said: “When new installations are coated with Ecolast, they will be protected against salt, ultraviolet radiation, waves, and even ice.”

“Mechanical damage to the coated surface is minimised. And like all other coating systems at Subsea Industries, Ecolast is completely impervious to abrasion and corrosion.”

Mr Hof added: “As a result no repaint is required once the coating has been applied, safeguarding the colour and the integrity of the structure or vessel while negating costly recoats and substrate preparation work.”

Application of Ecolast is completed in two layers with no need for primer or any other extra layer. This makes application fast and easily adaptable to the schedule of a yard.
