New technology at Big Sight

Sea Japan 2004, which takes place between the 14-16 April, is again being held at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Centre. The exhibition will run over three days and there will be a conference on the first day. Both the event as a whole and the one-day conference is organised by CMP Japan and Seatrade Communications.

The 2004 event is well supported by various organisations and industry associations, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Japanese Shipowners’ Association, the Shipbuilders’ Association of Japan, Japan Ship Exporters’ Association, Japanese Marine Equipment Association, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Bureau of Port and Harbour and JETRO.

In the region of 350 exhibitors from various countries will be present at the event, which is expected to attract around 17,000 visitors from around the globe.

One of the key highlights at Sea Japan will be the New Technology Seminar at which exhibiting companies will present papers introducing new products, the results of research and the announcement of new business developments. The workshops will be held in East Hall 4 and run throughout the duration of the three-day event. The New Technology Seminar is free of charge to all visitors to the exhibition.

Presentations taking place include ?Introduction of NAPA Manager? from Napa Oy, and ?Nakashima Mechanical Pad Drive? from Nakashima Propeller Co, ?Electric propulsion system for the next generation, LNG carriers from Siemens AG and ?Imitation parts countermeasure of marine equipment? from the Japanese Marine Equipment Association. Also, ?SafeHull Express? from the American Bureau of Shipping. ?The latest oil treatment system technology for megacontainer ships,? from Westfalia Separator and ‘Purifying systems’ relating to neglegible waste oil from the Harada Corporation.
