New Ulstein IMR for Eidesvik
The new addition to Eidesvik’s fleet, the Seven Viking, will now head for Stavanger, where it will be named on Wednesday 30 January, before starting operations for Statoil in the North Sea.
Seven Viking is vessel number forty with Ulstein’s X-BOW hull line design. The vessel is designed to meet the high demands of IMR, survey, and light construction work in some of the harshest ocean environments.
The versatility of the vessel allows for scale treatment and light diving support services.
Ulstein says that the hull form, with the Ulstein X-BOW, combined with a redundant diesel electric propulsion system, ensures the best performances with regard to station keeping, speed and fuel economy. The main propulsion system comprises three azimuth propellers, each propeller driven by variable speed electric motor.
