Newport Shipping outlines CTV construction plans
NAV Engineering and Technology will design and build two different sizes of battery-hybrid CTV, one 26m in length, the second 33m. The designs will be designed for future operation on alternative fuels. Each will have personnel capacity of 24, and performance and data tracking will be a feature on each.
Four of each will be built at the Cicek shipyard in Tuzla, Turkey, with delivery completed by September 2025. The first newbuild is expected to be delivered in July 2024 with subsequent delivery every two months.

CTV operator plans
The offshore wind focused subsidiary is also planning to collaborate with an equity partner to establish a CTV operation arm, focused on the North and Baltic Seas, although the commercial and technical management is expected to be carried out by the equity partner. NAV sees its involvement as pure equity partner after the delivery of the vessels.
