Nigeria has plans for local shipbuilding

The Nigerian Navy is making plans to commence shipbuilding locally in the near future with a view to meeting the navy?s requirements. This disclosure was made by the Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Dockyard in Lagos, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha J. Jonah, while receiving a 24-man team of South African Navy War College officials

According to the Rear Admiral, the naval Dockyard was yet to build ships but there are plans with a view to enhancing building capacity to meet the demands of the maritime industry.
