NYK orders VLCC trio

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) in Japan ordered three 300,000DWT VLCCs from IHI Marine United for delivery from 2008 to 2009. NYK now has 13 VLCCs on order and is in accordance with the company?s policy of creating a double-hulled tanker fleet. With the delivery of all newbuildings, NYK will have 33 double hulled VLCCs in its fleet, excluding short-term chartered VLCCs.
