Oil mist separator gains GL certification

The company claims to be a pioneer in development and manufacture of highly efficient oil mist separators for crankcase ventilation of combustion engines and for lube oil tank vents for turbines. Now, GL approval gives UT99 AG proof of meeting high levels of safety and reliability. The company adds that discharge of oil emissions from crankcase ventilation systems is almost completely eliminated. Depending on the model, residual oil amounts below 1mg/m³ in the exhaust air (e.g. blow-by) is claimed.

The portfolio of oil mist separators with GL approval includes volume flows (e.g. blow-by) up to 1,050m³/h, suitable for internal combustion engines up to 100MW and all sizes of gas and steam turbines. Electronic under-pressure control and an electrically driven fan provide constant adjustable negative pressure under all operating conditions. With ATEX approval, the device can be used in hazardous areas. The company says it supplies various engine manufacturers and shipyards, including Caterpillar, MAN Diesel & Turbo, Meyer Werft, MTU, Bergen Engines and Siemens. Applications include open and closed crankcase ventilation in internal combustion engines and turbine lube oil tank vents.
