Olympic orders P101
Ulstein Verft has signed a contract with Olympic Shipping in Fosnavåg, Norway, for a large P101 multipurpose platform supply vessel designed by Ulstein Design. The new vessel is hull number 278 at Ulstein Verft and is to be delivered end of October next year at a cost of $45 million.
The 95 m long, 20.5 m wide ship is a multifunctional sub-sea vessel, and can also function as a supply vessel. The vessel will be fitted with an active heave compensated crane, ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) and a helicopter deck. ULSTEIN P101 is a versatile vessel type that can perform sub-sea operations world wide and, with ice class ICE-C, will be able to operate even in arctic waters like the Barents Sea.
Olympic Shipping has previously contracted two anchor handling vessels from Ulstein Verft, both by Ulstein Design and was the first ship owner to order ship design by Ulstein Design after the establishment of the company in 1999.
