On-line access from LR

Shipowners that have LR classed vessels are now able to check the survey status of their ships over the Internet using Class Direct Live. After entering a user name and password, owners can get direct access to the actual records used by LR without the need for dedicated software.

Once LR’s records have been updated, the owner can access the latest information via the Internet and all survey, collision reports and other documentation back to 1987 can be viewed. Owners can call up a five-year fleet plan that shows when surveys and certificates are due and a red flashing indicator highlights when a vessel is within three months of a survey date.

A pull down menu will display the relevant checklists to help with vessel preparation. As the information can be accessed from anywhere in the world at any time, owners need not keep many of the paper records they currently hold.
