PDVSA into shipbuilding

Venezuela Oil (PDVSA) signed an agreement with Brazilian company Andrade Gutierrez to build a shipyard in Venezuela which will provide the state owned oil company with new oil tankers.

The creation of this facility that will be able to build large the ships for PDV Navy, a PDVSA subsidiary, and platforms involved in oil prospecting offshore projects is part of the plan to increase PDV Navy fleet to 60 vessels.

The shipyard will be the first Venezuelan infrastructure with advanced technology for the manufacturing, maintenance and repair of vessels of large tonnage.
