The EX-PLUS personal combustible gas detector from TQ Environmental meets the requirements of the new Solas ll Part D Regulation 59, in which portable combustible gas detectors are mandatory aboard all tankers, says the company.

TQ says the unit`s housing withstands hostile environments while the whole detector will fit in a crew member`s top pocket. An additional external guard protects the unit from impact and water. The units weigh 180g with a standard battery and 320g with a long-term battery.

The monitor gives visual and audible warnings should alarm thresholds be exceeded. For noisy environments a small earphone jack can be fitted. A sensor fail signal warns if the unit becomes damaged or faulty.

Gas levels are continuously displayed on an LCD display. Charging stations come in three versions, accommodating one, four or 24 monitors. Fax +44 924 271154.
