Posco and big 3 set up committee

Posco, the Korean big 3 shipbuilders- Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Samsung Heavy Industries- and Korean Register of Shipping have established a committee to develop steel for ship including thick steel plate. Called the Shipbuilding Steel Development Joint Committee, the committee held its first meeting earlier this month and elected Oh Chang Kwan, vice president of Posco, as its first chairman. The committee will identify relevant projects and involve academies or institution to undertake detailed studies.
