Posco to up thick steel plate production

Posco in South Korea will be increasing production of thick steel plates from 3.3 million tonnes per year to 3.8 million tonnes by 2008 in order to provide sufficient steel supply to Korean shipbuilders which have faced difficulties in securing steel plates. In addition, it will install and operate another steel production facility for shipbuilding industry with an output of 400,000 tonnes.
