Primar signs navy supplier model agreement

The Royal Danish Navy has signed an agreement with Primar ENC covering the delivery of official ENCs. It involves a navy supplier model, designed to allow the download of all charts and updates directly from Primar. The navy supplier office, which is in charge of chart folios for the Danish naval vessels, will then administer and distribute ENCs with updates to all the ships in its portfolio. This makes charts from hydrographic offices instantly available to the navy through the Primar network and the Primar chart catalogue, says the company. The Royal Danish Navy is to equip 30 of its vessels with type approved ECDIS systems and the official ENCs from Primar. Eventually more than 50 ships are to be equipped with ENCs that enable them to navigate on updated charts, which can also include military layers.
